On Monday night this week I unexpectedly got evicted from the home I moved into less than two months ago. (and I really love this space, it is everything I need) Then on the way to teach a class, I got pulled over and unnecessarily sited for two different things. Post getting pulled over as I rolled into teach my Friday morning class with minutes to spare, I called the students to the top of their mats told them to close their eyes, and then I promptly burst into tears.
You know that feeling when you are in a position where you absolutely have to speak out loud, but you’re choking back the fact you’re crying? As you attempt to project your voice, it proceeds to sing the song of your tears, while the physical words you are trying to say seamlessly end up wobbling out of your mouth like a squad of drunken kittens?
To say the mantra “I AM WORTHY, I AM WELCOME, I AM WHOLE” with conviction to a class room full of students while your trying to hide the fact that you’re sobbing, and feeling like you just can’t catch a break is flat out a fucking vulnerable place to be. But I did it, and through it I was reminded… ahhh yess mantras are a million times more powerful then whatever trivial bullshit is presenting itself in my journey right now. By the end of class I wasn’t just saying the mantra, I was allowing myself to feel it.
I AM WORTHY
I AM WELCOME
I AM WHOLE
Other sweet W words:
Weeks gone by:
W: Worthy, Welcome, Whole
X: Stay tuned OR come to class!
